Biology for Educators Certificate

This certificate program is intended for, but not limited to, those students pursuing a degree in science education. The certificate can be completed concurrently with your undergraduate degree in Natural Sciences with teaching intent or a related field. The certificate does not meet the requirements for a Biology license through the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.

This certificate is administered through the Department of Biology .

Consists of a minimum of 14 credits.

Biology, 14 credits

BIOL 110 - Principles of Biology I Credits: 5 and
BIOL 111 - Principles of Biology II Credits: 5
OR
BIOL 130 - Introduction to Plant Biology Credits: 5 and
BIOL 160 - Introduction to Animal Biology Credits: 5
AND
Biology electives (any 200 level BIOL course and above) to meet the required 14 credits

GPA Requirements

The minimum grade point requirements to be met: A minimum GPA of 2.75 among certificate courses must be attained.
